Breastfeeding eBook
5 Things First-time Mothers in Asia Should Know About Breastfeeding.
I know, there is so much information on the internet. It can be both helpful and overwhelming at the same time. I spent some time putting together this eBook for pregnant and breastfeeding mums. It will be easy reads for you and here are the key takeaways:
When does breastmilk supply begin?
Can you breastfeed your baby even after the COVID-19 vaccination?
What will your sleeping schedule realistically look like?
What’s the real reason you’re advised against washing your hair?
Why you should have a strong support network (and how to find them)?

Okay, I am in!
A little about myself
Just a mother, dreaming big
When I was younger, I knew I wanted to contribute back to society in some ways but could not figure out how. I tried finding jobs in the charity/association space but did not quite click. Ventured my job search into the healthcare sector, but had no luck. I set myself to even want to travel overseas to rescue the child prostitutes in war-torn countries. I don’t know, I guess I was very much influenced by some war news I was reading back then.
As life passes, I settled to work in the events industry, then specialising in Marketing, and finally grew my career in Marketing in the Technology space. I am in a happy place. My career is on track and I have the family I am blessed with, but I wanted to do more. Something is still missing. A void in my heart that I so wanted to fill - to help people.
Two kids, two breastfeeding journeys.
After having two kids, one pre-pandemic and one in the midst of the pandemic, there were many signs to push me to do something more. I was feeling so alone in my breastfeeding struggles with my second child, lost even. The breastfeeding experience is very different between the two kids of mine! As I reached out to other mothers and to various breastfeeding support groups, I found out that MANY other mums struggle with breastfeeding at some point. I guess the pandemic really changed people’s lives in one way or another. An idea crept into my mind when I was looking out the window listlessly - “I want to be an IBCLC!”
Many baby steps to complete a marathon.
I spent the covid lockdown studying, studying, studying. To clear the required health sciences courses and did lots of prep work. I am juggling a couple of things at a go - my day job, my volunteer work helping fellow mums, attending weekly lactation classes to further hone my breastfeeding knowledge and communication skills. As an Advanced Lactation Specialist, I am able to provide lactation counseling and consultations!
Of course, I am NOT an IBCLC yet. If you require emergency lactation support and/or a highly-trained lactation professional, please approach an IBCLC.
