Expecting soon.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! The good news is, there is no need to prepare your body to breastfeed. She will do her own magic to produce the milk your baby needs. And your baby is born with an innate ability to suckle and breastfeed. There is only one thing you need to prepare - learn all about breastfeeding and what to expect.

  • Initiating breastfeeding

  • When your milk comes in

  • Learn about hand expression, breast compression

  • Baby’s urine and stool

  • Breastfeeding and sleeping

  • Hunger cues

  • And more…

Back to work.

You’ve pulled through at least the first few months, you did great mummy! Now you are heading back to work or already back at work. You are working the whole day and baby may be needing you most of the night. At this stage, another set of challenges may arise for some mummies.

  • Baby is rejecting the bottle

  • Baby is drinking lesser in the day and more at night

  • How often shall I pump at work?

  • My pump output cannot keep up with baby’s demands during the day

  • Baby started solids and drinking lesser milk

All Consultations with a Lactation Consultant Will Include the Following…

  • Understanding your individual journey is key to providing the best breastfeeding support. We'll discuss your and your baby's health history, including birth weight, feeding frequency, diaper output, and pumping/expressing habits.

If you've experienced any medical concerns, a difficult pregnancy or birth, or your baby has any health conditions, please share this openly with me.

This information is crucial for tailoring our support to your specific needs.

  • We might discuss the possibility of examining your breasts and nipples, especially if you're experiencing any discomfort.

This examination helps me to identify potential causes and recommend the best approach for healing and improving your comfort level.

  • The heart of a lactation consultation often involves watching you feed your baby.

This could be breastfeeding, or bottle-feeding, depending on your situation.

Many parents are surprised to learn that small adjustments in positioning and latch can significantly improve comfort and feeding efficiency for both you and your baby.

Don't hesitate to ask questions and get clarification on any new techniques – my goal is to empower you with the knowledge and skills for successful feeding, even after our visit!

  • After your baby finishes feeding and settles down (hopefully for a nap!), I will address any questions you have.

We'll discuss what worked well during the session and explore any adjustments that might further improve your breastfeeding experience.

Together, we'll develop a personalized plan for the coming days and discuss how we can stay connected to ensure your continued success.

Additionally, I can recommend and refer you to other healthcare professionals who could provide further support for you and your baby.

Remember, you're not alone in this journey!
